Case Sets Full First District Work Period of New 118th Congress

His meetings include state and county government and community leaders as well as defense, nonprofit and media engagements

(Washington, DC) – U. S. Congressman Ed Case (HI-01), recently sworn into office for his fifth full term in the U.S. House of Representatives, heads home today for his first full work period of the new 118th Congress.

“I know from experience that the groundwork I lay back home early in each Congress is invaluable to confirming my agenda, strengthening partnerships and driving results throughout the Congress,” said Case.

“In this first ten-day period back home I’m focusing on my state and county government partners, celebrating community events, forwarding efforts I’ve pursued to date especially involving the Indo-Pacific, visiting local organizations and generally communicating that my office continues to work on key national issues, assisting Hawai’i on Capitol Hill, and helping my constituents with their own questions and needs.”

The two-year 118th Congress officially convened on January 3, 2023, though Case and his colleagues were not actually sworn in until January 7th due to the protracted Speaker election process. Case said the House organization and his own assignments are not yet confirmed, but he expects to serve again on the House Appropriations Committee, responsible for all federal discretionary funding, and is already well underway in preparing his work on that committee and other expected duties for the year.
