COVID-19

It has been over three years since the initial outbreak of COVID-19 in the United States. Since that time, we have made significant progress in curbing the spread of the virus and ensuring our nation is better prepared for any future pandemic. With the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency on May 11, 2023, our nation marked the end of the declared emergency and a shift to a new normal. While this is a significant milestone it is important to remain aware that COVID-19 is still be present in our community as we still see people being infected and dying each day, and countless are enduring the effects of Long COVID. By remaining aware we will be able to prevent additional strain on our already overburdened health care system.

To ensure that you have access to all the necessary information and resources regarding COVID-19, my staff and I have compiled useful resources from the federal, state and local government. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) remains the best overall source of information and guidance on COVID-19, including how to protect yourself and your ‘ohana from COVID-19, where to obtain vaccines and testing and what to do if you have contracted or been exposed to COVID-19.
