(Honolulu, HI) – U.S. Congressman Ed Case (HI-01) announced today that 14 community health centers throughout the State of Hawai‘i will receive more than $10 million to help them deal with the health emergency triggered by COVID-19.
“The CARES Act included funding to support federal, state and local public health agencies to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus,” said Case.
“This federal assistance to our community health centers can be used by the centers for staffing, personal protective equipment, screening, testing, and prevention or other means to fight the pandemic.”
“While this is good news for our invaluable community health centers who are on the frontlines of this public health crisis, it is clear that far more support is required for our health care system across the board.”
Case said $10,037,995 will go to these 14 centers:
Case will host his Live COVID-19 Tele-Talk Story Community Meeting this Wednesday, April 8th, from 6:30 to 8:00PM.
“As we continue to confront the COVID-19 crisis together, I need to stay in touch with all those I serve in Congress more than ever.”
He will be updating participants on the three major emergency measures Congress passed in March including the CARES Act, as well as efforts to implement its key provisions like assistance to our small businesses, direct payments and unemployment benefits as soon as possible.
Those who call in will be able to ask questions and he will personally answer them.
To join the Talk Story, most constituents will expect a call from Case from 808-650-6688 between 6:15 and 6:30PM Wednesday, and all who answer the call will just stay on the line to be connected.
