Case Announces Millions for Community Health Centers in Hawai‘i to Combat COVID-19

The funds come from the $2 trillion CARES Act enacted by Congress. The awards come as Case is set to host a Tele-Talk Story tonight

(Honolulu, HI) – U.S. Congressman Ed Case (HI-01) announced today that 14 community health centers throughout the State of Hawai‘i  will receive more than $10 million to help them deal with the health emergency triggered by COVID-19.

“The CARES Act included funding to support federal, state and local public health agencies to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus,” said Case.

“This federal assistance to our community health centers can be used by the centers for staffing, personal protective equipment, screening, testing, and prevention or other means to fight the pandemic.”

“While this is good news for our invaluable community health centers who are on the frontlines of this public health crisis, it is clear that far more support is required for our health care system across the board.”

Case said $10,037,995 will go to these 14 centers:
